2.) Install and Configure TeeCal Server / Standalone

TeeCal Server Installation Instructions

Note: Before proceeding with this step please be sure you have disabled the UAC in the Windows Control Panel.
See steps 1.a)  - 1.d) in the
Initial Setup, Settings and Configuration section of the knowledge base.

  1. Download the latest version of TeeCal by visiting our download page located at http://teecal.com/downloads.aspx and click the Download TeeCal link.  We recommend that you save this file to your desktop.
  2. Locate the downloaded TeeCal installer file and run it.
  3. The first thing you will see will be the Adobe Reader download utility.  This tool will automatically start once you double click the TeeCal installer file.  This tool will automatically download and install Adobe Reader 9.0 onto your computer which is required for TeeCal printing capabilities.  Once the tool is done installing Adobe Reader you will need to click the Finish button as seen in the third (right) screenshot below.
       
  4. Now you may see a white install utility pop-up window stating it needs to install the Microsoft .Net Framework.  If you see this pop-up screen you will need to click the OK button on it to proceed.  This pop-up does not show up on all installations as you might already have it installed.
  5. Now you should see the TeeCal setup wizard Welcome screen.
    Click the Next button on this wizard.
  6. Now you should see the License Agreement screen.
    Please read the license agreement.
    Click the I agree to the terms of this license agreement.
    Click the Next button to proceed.
  7. Now you should see the User Information screen.
    Please enter your full name in the Name field.
    Please enter the name of your business in the Company field.
    Click the Next button to proceed.
  8. Now you should see the Installation Folder screen.
    We highly recommend that you use the default path that is already populated on this screen.
    Please note that the folder specified on this screen is going to be the path where the TeeCal program files and TeeCal data will be located.  It is important that you notate this location as you will need to configure network access on this folder to be able to connect TeeCal clients.
    Click the Next button to proceed.

  9. Now you should see the Shortcut Folder screen.
    We recommend that you leave the default Shortcut Folder set as is.
    We also recommend that you select the Make shortcuts available to all users option.
    Click the Next button to proceed.
  10. Now you should see the Ready To Install screen.
    Review this information then click the Next button to proceed.
  11. Now you should see the Installing TeeCal screen.
    Please be patient as TeeCal is being installed.
  12. Now you should see the Installation Successful screen.
    The installation process is now completed.
    Click the Finish button to close the installer.




Initial Startup of TeeCal Server - Initial Setup Wizard


  1. Locate the newly installed TeeCal icon on the desktop and double click it to start the application.
  2. TeeCal is now starting.
  3. Now you should see the TeeCal Setup Wizard screen.
    Click the Next button to proceed.
  4. Now you should see the TeeCal - Networking screen.
    Select the Server Mode (standalone) option. ( this option should already be auto-selected for you)
    Click the Next button to proceed.
  5. Now you should see the TeeCal - Your Company Information screen.
    You will need to enter information for all of the fields in the Your Company Information box.
    Please note that all this information will be displayed on your invoice headers and other printouts.
    The email address you enter here should be the general incoming email address used for your daily business.
    Click the Import Logo button, locate and select your company logo.
    Click the Next button to proceed once you have completed entering all the fields.
  6. Now you should see the TeeCal - Default Settings screen.
    Enter your Sales Tax information and select  your Tax options for shipping and labor charges.
    Choose which option you want to use as your invoice billing date. The Invoiced Customer Date option sets the invoice date on an invoice when you update the invoice status to or past the Invoiced Customer status within the invoice.
    Set the Require sales rep on Quotes and Invoices option per your preference.
    Also configure the Scheduling options.
    Now click the Next button to proceed.
  7. Now you should see the TeeCal - License Mode screen.
    Select the Activate Software option
    Enter your TeeCal Server Code and click the Activate button.  (This installs your license into the TeeCal software.)
    While the system is processing your license activation you will see a processing screen pop-up (as seen in the middle screenshot below).
    Once the license activation process is completed you will then see an Activation Successful message which you will need to click OK button on to proceed.
    Click the Next button on the TeeCal - License Mode screen to proceed.
       
  8. Now you should see the TeeCal - Completed screen.
    Click the Finish button to close the TeeCal Setup Wizard.
    You will see the Saving message pop-up while the system saves your settings.
      




Starting TeeCal For First Time After Initial Setup


  1. Locate the newly installed TeeCal icon on the desktop and double click it to start the application.
  2. TeeCal is now starting.
  3. You should now see the TeeCal User Login screen. (Appears once the TeeCal system completes loading all the necessary files as seen in previous screenshot)
    Choose the New User 1 account  to login.  The is no password for this account by default.
  4. Now you should see the TeeCal application and the Whats New screen.
    You have successfully installed, configured and activated your TeeCal license.
